Devarayanadurga is a hill situated in Tumkur district which is famous for its two popular temples, the Yoganarasimha and Bhoganarasimha Temple. The Devarayanadurga is a temple is said to be around 2000 years
old and the temple’s architecture is in Dravidian style, faces east, constructed
by Kanthirava Narasaraja I. The architecture is an example of Chola
rulers’ patronage for art. The hills are filled with lush green trees
on all sides which makes the climbing a lot enjoyable and beautiful landscapes. The place was originally
known as Anebiddasari then as Jadakana Durga after a chief named Jadaka
and finally as Devarayanadurga after its capture by Mysore king Chikka Devaraja Wodeyar.
Riders : All the Riders of Royal Indian
Club
Route : Bangalore –> Nelamangala
–> Dabaspet –> Urdigere –> Devarayanadurga
Inputs on Accommodation and Food : This
is good place for a day ride from Bangalore. Please do not plan for overnight
stay bcos its in the Devarayana Forest and does not have any accomodation.
Also you don't have any hotel there to have food except for snacks shops
where you get biscuits and cool drinks. So please get you food packed before visiting
Devarayanadurga.
Inputs on Road : Roads are really good
and do not worry.
It was my first Ride along with the
Royal Indian Club and we all gathered near Foto Flash, Ulsoor lake. There
were around 40 Bulls gathered and we started at around 7.00AM, roaring of all the bulls
on the road was amazing and we started hitting the Tumkur Road.

All Bikes at Kamat Upachar
Stoppage for breakfast was at Kamat Upachar and after finishing the breakfast, we rode to Devarayanadurga. It was very scenic and enjoyed the ride, taking lots of snaps. After visiting the Yoganarasimha and Bhoganarasimha temple, we went to another place called Namada Cheullme.
